The Spanish horse is one of great beauty and elegance.  The profile of the horse is one of oval shapes with no harsh angles.  They are known for their flowing manes and tails and they show an abundance of presence and cadence.  It has been said these horses are only fit for Royalty, to be ridden by Kings and Queens , as they are noble and courageous. These days it is now very achievable for families to own their own Andalusian horse, and enjoy their affectionate nature. 

The Spanish horses love to pose for the cameras of photographers and they are much sought after for their presence and beauty. They are used frequently in movies as they are very trainable and versatile. 

In the Andalusian horse is traditionally known as the stock horse, with great ability to work with cattle. This has led to them being admired in the bull fighting ring for their agility, flexibility and courage. In the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art they show a great aptitude for ‘Airs above the ground’. 

Andalusians are excellent performance and show horses, naturally excelling in classical dressage and show jumping. They are great family horses as they are people orientated and they do become your best friend.   

At present this breed has international success. The Spanish horse was represented at the Atlanta Olympics 1996, the Sydney Olympics 2000, won Silver at the 2003 European Dressage Championships, and Silver at the Athens Olympics 2004.
